Contracts Committee Meeting

Bob Korroch and Ben Crumpler of Williams Mullen will present an overview of corporate organization alternatives and the benefits and disadvantages of the respective types of entities.  The choice of corporate structure, for example a Limited Liability Company or a Stock Corporation, affects issues like ease of accepting new investors or sale of the company, taxation, and representation of ownership and control for federal and state small business set-aside programs.  Too often, these questions arise after the choice already has been made.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (August 10-11)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Cableway Improvement Program (CIP) Installation, Repair and Inspection (August 17-21)

This course is under the oversight of HII Technical Solutions and upon successful completion attendees will receive a NAVSEA Cableway Certification card. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway training and certification to students.

Virtual VSRA General Membership Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the odd numbered months. The General Membership Luncheon meetings are held every month.

Emergency First Response Certification (August 19)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

NMD TIP Interface Info Session - NMD Direct Entry

The VSRA QA Committee is working with Heather McGraw of the Navy Regional Maintenance Center to provide informational sessions regarding NMD TIP. Recommended attendance for this session are END USERS.

The VSRA QA Committee is working with Heather McGraw of the Navy Regional Maintenance Center to provide informational sessions regarding NMD TIP. Recommended attendees for this session are end users and IT personnel.

Virtual Other Internal Test

For the month of September, in lieu of our regularly scheduled Internal Test Meeting, we will be participating in a Internal Test Day with Tech.

Introduction to Blueprint Reading & Technical Drawing (August 24-28)

This course is designed for rising welders, pipefitters, ship-fitters, electricians and workers who need a working knowledge of blueprint technology, symbols and design features specific to ships.
