Cableway Improvement Program (CIP) Installation, Repair and Inspection (February 1-5)

This course is under the oversight of HII Technical Solutions and upon successful completion attendees will receive a NAVSEA Cableway Certification card. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway training and certification to students.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (February 2-3)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Emergency First Response Certification (February 4)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted. This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Emergency First Response REFRESHER (February 5)

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Introduction to Blueprint Reading & Technical Drawing (February 8-12)

This course is designed for rising welders, pipefitters, ship-fitters, electricians and workers who need a working knowledge of blueprint technology, symbols and design features specific to ships.

Cybersecurity Committee Meeting

1. High Level Overview of DFARS 7012 vs CMMC (many requirements are the same)
2. CMMC Ecosystem and how certifications will be conducted
3. Top FIVE Most Frequent Challenges Businesses Face when implementing the requirements
4. How to get your SPRS score entered (per Interim Rule from the fall) and what is going to be done with your score

Our VSRA CMMC Preparation Working Group will be kicking off in March. The goal of the working group will be to tackle specific issues/questions and bring the knowledge back to the entire committee.
