Paul Clifford has over 25 years of experience serving in and working in support of the U.S Navy. Paul is the Senior Director of Waterfront Operations for General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk, leading and managing the production, programs and facilities departments. NASSCO-Norfolk has facilities and personnel working at the Ligon Street facility (Norfolk), the Harper Road facility (Portsmouth) and are routinely working at Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Little Creek Amphibious Base.
Paul was appointed Senior Director of Waterfront Operations of General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk in July of 2021. Prior to pursuing a career with NASSCO-Norfolk, Paul served for 27 years as a nuclear trained Engineering Duty Officer to include tours at COMNAVAIRLANT, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Newport News, and Nuclear Power Training Unit, Charleston. Shipboard tours include USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH, USS ENTERPRISE, PCU RONALD REAGAN, USS GEORGE WASHINGTON and USS GUNSTON HALL.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Economics from Rutgers University, a Master’s in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University and a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Naval Postgraduate School.
Paul and his wife live in Carrollton and have two grown children.
